.
a post on Pagdi is long over due RUTH. You can write a book on the pagdi alone. Pagdi is what the man is wearing on his head.
Pronounced PUG Like puck, now here is a problem, DI is pronounced DRI
PUGDRI, D and R are half prononced together.
If you touch his pagdi you touch his honour. Tapping the pagdi is an act of insult. If his daughter or son marries a lower cast is like tossing his pagdi. He accuses the daughter of having tossed his pagdi in public. And he is disgraced and can't show his face in the village. Ruth, you can write volumes on this subject alone
oh yes Ruth, Fashionable young men borrowed the idea of wearing ear rings only from the villagers. They have been wearing ear rings for centuries.

Yes, men have worn earrings for centuries. This style, around the ear, is something I hadn't seen on a "modern" man. Thought only women wore it.
Now in the US some young men in urban centers wear earrings in both earlobes that are very large.
Some gay men wear an earring in one ear. Used to be if it was in the left lobe, you were not necessarily gay. If it was in the right lobe, you were making a statement that you are gay.
What is "Pagdi"?
His eyes are glittering. And he has a mole on his left cheek exactly where I have one.
I don't think I've seen men wearing this kind of earring.
I love this, rauf.
